Formed in 1978, Yellow Magic Orchestra is one of the most influential groups in
the Japanese electronic music scene. Comprising Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi
Sakamoto, and Yukihiro Takahashi, YMO integrated synthesizers and drum machines
into their music, helping popularize electronic music in Japan and
internationally. Kazuhiro Iwashita (Mkwaju Ensemble): In the 1980s, Kazuhiro
